notes from a pilgrim

Month

June 2012

1. Life is hard 2. Your life is not about you 3. You are not in control 4. You are not that important 5. You are going to die
This is from a prescient  little article  by Msgr. Charles Pope from the Archdiocese of Washington. Read it and weep for joy. Sufferin’ aint that bad… maybe it can actually be…dare I say it… good?

“Survey Says…”

Surveys show a shockingly high fraction think a quarter of the country is gay or lesbian, when the reality is that it’s probably less than 2 percent.

“One thing’s for sure: it’s hard to imagine the fact that so many think the country is more than a quarter gay or lesbian has no impact on our public policy.”

Q: How do you know if you have been deceived?

Q: How do you know if you have been deceived?
A: You wouldn’t know it if you were.

The only answer is to continually pray in humility for God’s light, and the grace of conversion.
June is the month to pray for conversion of hearts!

Conversion Prayer

O dear Jesus I call on you to embrace
all God’s children and cover them with
Your Precious Blood
Let each drop of Your Blood cover
every soul to shield them from the evil one

Open the hearts of all especially hardened souls
and those who know You, but who are stained with
The sin of pride, to fall down and beg for the light of
Your Love to flood their souls

Open their eyes to see the Truth so that the dawn
of Your Divine Mercy will shower down upon them so they
are covered with the Rays of Your Mercy.

Convert all souls through the graces I ask you for
now Dear Jesus (personal intention here)

I beg you for Mercy and offer you this gift of fasting for one day
Every week for this month of June in atonement for all sins.

Amen.
